Originally dating back to 1981 as the Kings Head, this has now been bought by Wine Inns and made over with gastro/cafe and restaurant (Morso), with entertainment (including the ubiquitous sport screens). It has a refurbished patio.

Refurbished and now brighter, with good food in the upstairs restaurant. Great music at the weekend and very enjoyable on a balmy summer evening standing on the patio just watching the river flow. Not far from buses. The music here can be great, especially the R&B.

This has undergone many renovations in its day, but the original public bar is still there. Serves food and has a dance upstairs. Noisy and very busy at nights, the crowd spills onto the road at closing and it is best to find another route past it if you are driving.

Greens Pizza
Greens Pizza 549 Lisburn Road
Belfast
BT9 7GQ
(028) 9066 6033 (T)

Very popular family restaurant with more than pizzas on offer. Always busy, so book. When really busy, they will lend you a pager while you wait in the bar across the road. Excellent food and friendly service. Not licensed, so bring your own. Toilets at top of narrow stairs. Carry-out service. Busy road so parking can be difficult at times. They also have a premise at Ballyhackamore.

The Bridge House
The Bridge House 35-43 Bedford Street
Belfast
BT2 7EJ
(028) 9072 7890 (T)

A big change since the no smoking. Patio doors at the front allow access for the smokers under a canopy. The premises has large fire exit doors (ramped for wheelchairs), disabled toilet, and a low level public phone. There is a lift to the upper floor for the disabled (ask at bar for details). Downstairs has large front windows, low and high tables, comfortable sofas with coffee tables and lots of modern paintings. Money has been spent here, and it shows. Lavish toilets includes a baby changing area (ask at bar for details). Beer & food quality and prices are the usual Wetherspoon consistency. The barstaff are well trained and friendly. Very busy most nights with a great mixture of people of all ages. Good, ever changing range of ales and the odd beer & cider festivals.
