Sulwath Brewery
Sulwath Brewery 209 King Street
Castle Douglas
01556 504525 (T)

This family Brewery sits in a small courtyard just off the street near the end of the town. The tap room is small but sufficient and hosts a shop and brewery tours. The beers are always on excellent form as are the staff. Small snacks are available including locally made pies from a butcher in the town. Always a warm welcome and fond favourites of BFTWNI. At present none of the licenced premises are serving their ales on draught.

This is not now a hotel but they can guide you to places to stay. Restaurant to one side, bar with large fire, lounge and games room at the other. Check out the seaside postcards in the toilets.

A bar with a roaring fire, two small lounges with aircraft photographs from RAF bases. Narrow stairs lead up to the bedrooms. Good accommodation with 12 rooms, but book well in advance. Very large restaurant overlooking a very old graveyard where interred are the many bodies from local shipwrecks. Excellent meals served by friendly staff. (See my red car?).

Serving guest beers for many years, a friendly town centre pub, once a coaching inn, overlooking the river. Good bar and side lounge. Winner of many awards, including a N. Ireland CAMRA certificate! Everchanging list of ales, all kept in good condition.
