The Spirit Merchant

Newtownards

What would appear to be a small premise on the main street is in fact quite substantial. Toilets on the upstairs (I did not notice a lift). The place gets very busy at nights so get food orders in early. It has the same theme as most of the other establishments and the beer is good.

The Moat Inn

Donaghadee

Old fashioned small bar and seperate lounge/dining area. The bar has lots of pictures and a huge Conways Whiskey mirror. Note the antique telephone with ring winder. Tiled floor, the walls are painted plaster as is the modern beamed ceiling. Wide stairs at the back lead to the large restaurant. Beer garden at the back. Serving cask ale.

A modern, large layout pub/restaurant with a car park to the rear via Eastleigh Drive. Large glassed frontage with french doors to the side, it is roomy and airy with some booths and restaurant to the rear which sports an impressive wall of wine. Cask ale is available.

Originally two Victorian town houses, it has transformed over the years and is now a modern hotel/restaurant/bar boasting fine cuisine and drinks. It hosts a monthly "Meet the Brewer" night and is trialing "cask ale on the bar". Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
